DIY Pom Pom Garland
Do you have a few projects you want to cram in before Christmas? I do. And this is one of them.
I've always loved the look of pom pom garlands and I've tried making pom poms before with cardboard but they turned out dreadful. Then I discovered these pom pom makers at Kmart. You get 4 different sizes for $3. I didn't find them brilliant, but they did create relatively good pom poms, enough to make a simple garland.
For the garland I measured out 3 x 180cm strands of the wool and plaited them together, tying at each end to leave 10cm strands.
Next,
I tired a length of wool around the centre of my pom poms to attach to
the strand. (Next time, I would not cut off the strand of wool that tied
the centre of my Pom Pom together when I originally made them. Lesson
learnt.)
Then I tied them onto my garland. Knotting twice, but leaving them lose enough to slide along and reposition.
And we all know layered garlands always look the best, so I add it to my sideboard mirror.

Thanks Tania! I'm still getting the hang of it, but definitely quicker. I'll keep an eye out for the heart one! Best wishes, Julie
