Happy Easter Friday friends!
I
was just thinking how fast this year is flying by. When I reflect on
this same time last year we were all in lock down from the outbreak of
Covid and the world was a very different and scary place for everyone.
For some countries it sadly still is. But for others, it is more
hopeful. Here in Australia we still have some minor outbreaks and snap
lockdowns, but nothing compared to other countries. We have been
fortunate to be able to manage it so that life is relatively normal.
Vaccines are now rolling out and we are hopeful that all Australians
will have had their initial vaccination by October. I'm so grateful for
where we live in the world.
So today
my Easter post is dedicated to being grateful, for our lives, our
families, and for everything we have that we often take for granted. I
know I like to change up my house a lot, and it may seem that I am
ungrateful for what I have, but it's not that I want more, it's that I
like change. I'm creative by nature and that is what makes me happy.
And I love sharing my creativity with others and I hope that makes them
happy too. I'm grateful that I have that opportunity. So thank you to
all of you. I am grateful for having you in my life. 😊
And I'm so happy to be sharing my 2021 Easter Home Tour with you all today!

This
year I kept my decorating to the adjoining living and dining rooms.
They are the rooms we all spend the most time in and will enjoy the
decor the most.
For
the coffee table, I created a simple centrepiece using a round wooden
tray. I lined my tray with coconut husk fibres. These are great for
creating birds nests or adding a bit of nature to your decor. On top I
added a rustic flower pot containing a faux Ikea pot plant.
Delicately
balanced on the side I added a cute faux birds nest. Lastly I
incorporated by white metal bunny bell. Yep, it even rings when you tap
it the top.
It really sets the theme for the season when you walk in the room.
Over on our display cabinet I hung my regular Easter egg and feather wreath.
I added a few more eggs in this year with my hot glue gun just to fill in a few gaps.
And this cute little bunny on a swing from Bed Bath n Table as a centrepiece.
I kept our mantelpiece relatively simple as well. I started with the addition to two topiaries on either side.
And on one side I have my white porcelain bunny ...
On the other side I added a cute wooden bunny ...
and my framed mini speckled egg wreath.
Lastly I added a small sprinkling of eggs.
And over to the dining room.
I
added a simple wooden bowl with some potted faux plants and some pillar
candles. These are also from my table setting which you can see
here if you missed it.
I hung my DIY Bunny picture over the table. You can see the full post of how I made him
here.
I haven't decided on a name for him yet but am open to suggestions. 😁
And on the cabinet next to the TV ...
I've placed my cute wooden father and son bunnies ...
and a sweet little birds nest completes the scene.
Happy Easter dear friends.
Take care and stay safe.
:) Julie
