Natural Wooden French Doors and My New Dewalt Orbital Sander

 

I decided to give our french doors yet another makeover.

This is how they used to look.

 

 

My lovely hubby got me an early birthday present of a Dewalt Random Orbital Sander and I wanted to try it out.

Wow, this sander is brilliant! Put it on your Christmas lists ladies.  It is very smooth with minimal vibrations and collects almost all the sanding dust! A huge improvement on my Ryobi sander.

So after sanding my doors back and applying a few coats of clear varnish, here they are.

I decided to keep the white paint on the borders of the glass panels, mostly because it would be a big job getting it all off, and I think it adds a bit of contrast.

I added my small green wreaths from last year to each door to add a bit of Christmas. 

With the addition of some cute wooden antlers which I picked up from Spotlight for 30% off.
