7 DAYS OF DIY CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATIONS - DAY 6 - DIY VINTAGE PICTURE METAL ORNAMENTS

Happy weekend friends!

Welcome to Day 5 of my DIY Christmas Tree Decorations!

Today I'm sharing my DIY Vintage Picture Metal Ornaments!

This cute little ornament was gifted to me. I love it! It's made of metal so it has some weight to it. And was the inspiration for these ornaments.

I purchased this book from Amazon when I was thinking of doing a vintage themed Christmas with lots of colour. In the end, I couldn't stray from the neutrals I truely love.

However, when I saw these pictures, I knew they would make the perfect faux metal ornaments. So I cut them all out.

Then I backed them on gold cardboard and cut them out again, leaving an approximate 3mm edge showing.

Then I flipped over my gold cardboard and traced out my picture card to create the back of the ornament.

After cutting the back out, I layed them down next to each other, insides facing up. To create the weight and slight thickness of a metal ornament, I decided to use 10 cent coins.

I just glued around the edges of the cardboard and made a 10 cent sandwich. 😂

They looked and felt so authentic when I was finished gluing them all!

Lastly I used a whole punch to create a hole for my twine.

They look perfect on my small Ikea trees in the entryway.

Okay friends, only one more day to go! Join me tomorrow for the big wrap up!

Take care and stay safe!

Julie 😀
