Rustic Farmhouse Hanging Lanterns

If you saw my Dining Room Reveal, you will remember my new DIY Hanging Lanterns.


I bought these gorgeous white lanterns from Ikea a while ago and have had them hanging on the front of our house.  But they other day I decided I wanted to enjoy looking at them inside, so I brought them in and gave the a good clean. They came up good as new.

For the wood backing, I used a scrap piece of timber, cut it in two, and used a combination of Walnut and Black stain to stain them.

I had two spare black curtain rod hangers which I screwed to the wood backing.

After I attached some wall hangers to the backs of the wood, I hung them on the wall, and hung my lanterns on the hooks. And that was it! Simple. 

I just need to find some pretty candles to go inside.
