Farmhouse Style Fresh Eggs Sign

Another Easter project I undertook recently was this Farmhouse Style Fresh Eggs sign.

I printed off my wording and measured up my sign on MDF.

I cut out the MDF, then cut out a wooden frame for the back.  Then glued it all together and let it dry for several hours.

I then painted my sign with a few coats of flat white paint.

I rubbed lead pencil across the back of my wording, then traced it onto my sign, then filled it in with black marker.

To create the aged effect I used black paint on my finger to wipe around the edges and then a bit dragged across the front of the sign. Finally I used a paint brush lightly dipped in white paint, then slightly dragged over the wording.

I'm pretty happy with the result. And can use it in the kitchen after Easter.

More Easter Inspiration:

  1. This looks great! I love it. We have chickens and have a ton of eggs. I think I might need to make a sign like this for our kitchen for year round. :) Thanks for linking up to The Creative Exchange!
