Kids Framed Letter Door Art

I bought large plain letters for each of the kids a while back, but could not find a great way to display them, until this morning.  In a freakish moment of creativity, I pulled them out.  I had spray painted them red weeks ago in anticipation of a bright idea. :)  I gave them a light sand and distress and then coated them in Modge Podge to seal the paint.
I had some spare photo frames in the garage which looked great in a woodgrain finish so no need to paint. :)  I love the contrast woodgrain can bring to white walls.  So I simply removed the glass from each frame and inserted some heavy weight white cardboard as a background.
I hot glued the letters to the cardboard in the centre of each frame.  Then I added some M3 strips to the back of the frames and attached them to the fronts of each of the kids' bedroom doors.  They really pop out and the letters look like they are suspended in mid air as the white card matches the door.
I absolutely couldn't be happier with the way they turned out.  They match perfectly with the kids decor (which is still in the process of being completed - soon I hope)!  Now to find something to put on mine and hubby's bedroom door ... D&M??

Note: See the dresser, I'll be blogging that next. :)

  1. What a fun idea to put them on there door. I could see a bunch of them framed and spelling out words like "PLAY." I am a new follower visiting from Pinteresting Party. I have pinned this post. Vicky from Mess For Less
